The Christian life is about “going against the flow” of a world bent on going against God and living in sin. Think of men in the Bible like Daniel and his three friends, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah…men who loved God and committed themselves to live lives of righteousness and obedience to Him…even if they were the only ones obediently saying “no” to sin and “yes” to God. These times in which we live are times in which followers of Jesus are tugged on and pulled at to compromise and “go with the flow” into sin. We, too, must say “no” to sin and “yes” to God, no matter what others do…no matter what the consequences.

Romans12:1-2

1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

1 Timothy 4:12

Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
