You know the difference between knowledge and wisdom, right? Knowledge is having information…hopefully good and reliable information. Of course, God’s Word is the only resource giving error-free knowledge. Wisdom, however, is knowing how to use the knowledge correctly in all ways. Both knowledge and wisdom come from the Lord, so it is only from Him that we should diligently and prayerfully seek them.
Proverbs 2:6-10
6 For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8 Guarding the paths of justice, And He preserves the way of His godly ones. 9 Then you will discern righteousness and justice And equity and every good course. 10 For wisdom will enter your heart And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
Colossians 2:2-3
2 My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
“The great mistake made by most of the Lord’s people is in hoping to discover in themselves that which is to be found in Christ alone.” ~ A.W. Pink
