It’s common to hear people say things like, “I’ve got to look out for Number One.” Obviously, they’re talking about themselves. The common thinking in this world is: “If I don’t take care of myself, no one else will.” That might be common thinking, but that’s not biblical thinking. The truth is that a life focused on self is a dead end street. A life entrusted to, and focused on, Jesus…that puts Jesus first above all else…that’s a life that will be filled with true satisfaction, contentment, and fulfillment. Put Jesus first in your life!
Colossians 1:17-18
17 [Jesus] is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
Colossians 3:1-4
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
“At some point in life, we have to come to grips with whether “He” or “me” is the main feature of our existence.” ~ Joe Stowell
