It’s all too common to think of the church as a building…a place where people gather at various times during the week for various meetings. However, the church isn’t the building…it’s a people…a group of “called out” people…called by God out of the world…out of sin…and into salvation by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, to become His church…the people for whom He died…the people for whom He lives…and the people whom He so dearly loves. Put your faith in Him, who died for you, to forgive your sin, and you, too, can be one of His people.

Ephesians 5:25-27

Christ…loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

“The church is not a place. It’s not a building. It’s not a preaching point. It’s not a spiritual service provider. It’s a people – the new covenant, blood-bought people of God. That’s why Paul said, ‘Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her’ (Eph. 5:25). He didn’t give himself up for a place, but for a people.” ~ Mark Dever
